Gates of Olympus 1000 is the higher-ceiling edition of the Pragmatic Play Zeus slot, released on 4 December 2023.
It keeps the 6x5 pay anywhere grid, where any eight matching symbols pay wherever they land, and the tumble engine that clears winners and drops new symbols. What changed is the maths: multiplier symbols now run from 2x all the way to 1,000x, and the maximum win is 15,000x your stake instead of 5,000x. Top RTP setting is 96.50%, volatility is high, and bets run from EUR 0.20 to EUR 100.

Which Gates of Olympus Is This?
Four titles share almost the same name, and casino lobbies rarely explain the difference. The original Gates of Olympus arrived in February 2021 with multiplier symbols up to 500x and a 5,000x ceiling; it is still the most played of the four. Gates of Olympus 1000, the edition this page covers, was released on 4 December 2023 as an exclusive and rolled out widely on 14 December: same grid, same tumbles, but multiplier symbols up to 1,000x and a 15,000x maximum.
Gates of Olympus Super Scatter is a separate game with its own scatter-driven maths, not a mode of the 1000 edition. Gates of Olympus Xmas 1000 is a seasonal reskin of the 1000 edition on the same engine.
The quickest way to tell them apart in a lobby is the info panel: look for the top multiplier value and the max win line. If it says 1,000x and 15,000x, you are in the right game — and the side-by-side comparison with the original shows exactly what the extra ceiling costs.

Pay Anywhere and Tumbles: How a Round Builds
There are no paylines in Gates of Olympus 1000. A round starts with a bet between EUR 0.20 and EUR 100, or up to EUR 125 with ante bet switched on, and the 6x5 grid fills with 30 symbols. Any eight or more matching symbols pay, wherever they sit — top row, bottom corner, scattered across all six reels. Nine, ten or twelve of a kind pay more, and the payout scales with the symbol: the crown is worth the most, the blue gem the least.
Then the tumble begins. Every symbol that was part of a win is removed, the symbols above fall into the gaps, and fresh ones drop in from the top. If the new screen holds another eight of a kind, it pays again and tumbles again. The sequence only stops when a drop produces no win at all, and the total of every step is paid as one result.
That is why a single spin can produce a long chain of payouts: a modest first hit clears space, the refill lines up a second symbol group, and the chain keeps building. It is also why most spins end quietly. The typical result is nothing, or a first-tumble win smaller than the stake; the long chains are what high volatility looks like in practice.

Try a Round on Play Money
Play money · same 6×5 grid, tumbles and orbs as the real game
Out of play money. That is the usual ending at this volatility: the tumbles look busy, the balance still trends down.
Play for realSame 6x5 grid, same rule — eight or more matching symbols anywhere pay, winners vanish and new symbols tumble in. Orbs on screen are added up and applied to the series. The credit runs out at this volatility: that is the honest lesson, and the official demo runs the full build with the provider's own maths.

Multiplier Symbols from 2x to 1,000x
Multiplier orbs are the reason this edition exists. They can land on any reel in both the base game and free spins, carrying a value between 2x and 1,000x. An orb never pays on its own: it sits on the grid through the tumble sequence, and only when the sequence ends are all orbs on screen added together and applied to the accumulated win. Two orbs of 5x and 25x make 30x, not 125x — the values add, they do not multiply each other.
In free spins the rule goes one step further. Every orb that lands feeds a running total that stays on the panel until the round ends, so late spins in the bonus are worth more than early ones.
An honest note on the headline number: 1,000x on a single orb is a rare event, not something a session is built around. Most orbs you see will be in the 2x to 25x band, and many will land on screens with no win to multiply. The ceiling is real; the route to it is long.

The figures come from the provider's game rules, and one deserves a second look. RTP is not a single number: 96.50% is the top setting, but operators can license the same game at 95.51% or 94.50%, and the setting your casino runs is printed in the game's own info panel. Long term, that gap is the difference between losing EUR 3.50 and EUR 5.50 of every EUR 100 wagered.
Volatility describes how the return arrives: in rare, large hits, so dry stretches are normal and 15,000x is a ceiling, not a forecast.

Where to Play Gates of Olympus 1000
The game runs at the partner casino behind the Play button, which lists Gates of Olympus 1000 in its Pragmatic Play lobby alongside the 2021 original and Super Scatter. New players get a welcome package built from a deposit bonus and a batch of free spins; it comes with a wagering requirement and a minimum deposit, and the exact figures are on the operator's promotion page, where you should read them before registering rather than take them from a review.
Before the first real spin, check five things in the game itself:
- 1RTP setting in the info panel — 96.50%, 95.51% or 94.50%.
- 2Ante bet — on or off; it raises every stake by 25% for a doubled bonus chance.
- 3Bonus buy — available in your jurisdiction, or hidden from the panel.
- 4Bet limits of the lobby against the game's EUR 0.20–100 range.
- 5Slot contribution to the bonus wagering — often 100%, sometimes less.

Gates of Olympus 1000 Review FAQ
Is Gates of Olympus 1000 the same game as Gates of Olympus?
No. It is a separate release from December 2023 on the same 6x5 tumble engine. The difference is entirely in the multipliers: symbols up to 1,000x instead of 500x, and a 15,000x ceiling instead of 5,000x.
What is the RTP of Gates of Olympus 1000?
The provider's top setting is 96.50%, but casinos may run 95.51% or 94.50%. The figure that applies to you is always shown in the game's info panel, so check it there rather than in any review.
How do you trigger the free spins?
Land four or more scatter symbols anywhere in view for 15 free spins. During the round, three or more scatters add five more spins, and the multiplier total keeps building until the bonus ends.
Do the multipliers add up or multiply each other?
They add. Every multiplier symbol on screen at the end of a tumble sequence is summed, and that single total is applied to the win. A 25x and a 100x make 125x, not 2,500x.

Verdict: the same Zeus, a higher ceiling
Gates of Olympus 1000 is the original Zeus slot with the ceiling raised and nothing else changed. If you know the 2021 game, the only decision is whether you want the same 96.50% return delivered in rarer, larger pieces. Try the free demo first, read the RTP line in your casino's info panel, and budget for the dry stretches rather than for the bonus. If the maths still appeals, the Play button opens the lobby.
